Fuel Oil

MOL Group Fuel Oils are heavy residue materials from crude oil processing mixed with lighter components.

  • 3 production sites in 2 countries
  • 5 types of fuel oil
  • Strong presence in 6 countries

In general, we can divide it into 2 groups based on usage and quality parameters:

Heavy Fuel Oil

Heavy Fuel Oil is a heavy black material from vacuum crude oil distillation and/or the secondary treatment of oil residues. It includes lighter fractions such as medium and vacuum distillates from petroleum refining and petrochemicals products, to adjust the final product’s flow capabilities.

Usage of the product:

  • Burning in factories and power plants.

MOL Group Heavy Fuel Oil portfolio

Heavy Fuel Oil 1%

  • Low sulphur fuel oil type, sulphur content max 1%.
  • Rail deliveries from Slovnaft and INA, option of truck deliveries from Croatia (Sisak, Rijeka) and seagoing vessels deliveries from Rijeka.

Heavy Fuel Oil 3.5%

  • High sulphur fuel oil type, sulphur content max 3.5%.
  • Rail deliveries and option of truck deliveries from Croatia (Sisak and Rijeka).

Marine Fuels

These fuels consist for the major part of residues from crude oil processing. A residual fuel is usually a mixture of several refinery streams blended together with components to reach requested quality specifications like viscosity, density sulphur content and stability.

Usage of the product:

  • Powering the engines of seagoing vessels.
  • Burning in power plants.
