MOL Plc. (“MOL”) hereby notifies the market of the following:
On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia entered a final order and judgment enforcing MOL’s ICSID award (the “Award”) against the Republic of Croatia.
The tribunal in the arbitration, captioned MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc v. Republic of Croatia (ICSID Case No. ARB/13/32), issued the Award on 5 July 2022. The Award granted MOL approximately USD 183 million plus interest, costs, and expenses for Croatia’s breaches of the Energy Charter Treaty in connection with MOL’s investment in INA-Industrija Nafte.
MOL filed the US enforcement action in January 2023. Croatia asserted several defenses, principally on grounds relating to sovereign immunity. The court rejected those defenses and granted summary judgment for MOL in a memorandum opinion dated 5 March 2026. The court’s 28 April judgment converted the Award into a United States federal court judgment in the amount of approximately USD 286 million, including accrued pre-judgment interest.
