COVID-19
PROTECTION RULES AGAINST COVID-19 FOR CONTRACTORS and external partners (NON-MOL GROUP)
Dear Our Partners,
In line with state regulations and the current protocol of the National Public Health Centre, testing and mandatory quarantine for both covid infection and contact will be eliminated from November 1, 2022,
However, It remains essential that only healthy workers enter the MOL area. That is, if anyone who shows symptoms of the disease should stay away from their place of work to avoid infection of our colleagues or other workers.
If your colleague has symptoms of the coronavirus or other illness, he/she should contact their GP immediately and follow the GP’s instructions. Once the GP puts your colleague on sick leave, they can only come back to work on the doctor's recommendation. Furthermore, no negative test result is required for them to return.
The public authority will no longer impose a general obligation to test, so the use of antigen self-testing will therefore be discontinued in our company.
However, in exceptional cases, individual MOL sites/plants may introduce separate, stricter measures, for example in the case of Danube Refinery Turnaround Works due to operational safety considerations.
In such cases, the MOL Contact Person or the competent HSE organization will inform you separately about the current local rules.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Best Regards,
MOL HSE

PROTECTION RULES AGAINST COVID-19 FOR CONTRACTORS and external partners (NON-MOL GROUP)
Due to the favourable development of the number of positive cases of coronavirus, from March 9, 2022 we will mitigate the special rules of MOL, in accordance with the measures of the Hungarian Government.
- The obligation to use a mask is terminated, so it is not obligatory, but it is still recommended to use face mask as the risk of the epidemic has not been eliminated yet.
- In order to ensure the maximum safety of the operator staff, we ask you to continue using the mask when working in MOL's control rooms, and when applying for a permit.
- During Turnarounds - if prepared - the requirements set out in the separate pandemic plan must be followed.
- Contractor antigen and PCR testing will not continue, with the exception of contractors defined according to a separate pandemic plan.
However, please continue to observe the following:
- The current coronavirus measures in force in Hungary must be observed, followed at all times.
- Only healthy employees may enter MOL's sites.
- Increased attention should be paid to hygiene and hand washing.
- If a contractor working for MOL is suspected of having a confirmed infection or illness, it must be reported immediately to the MOL contact person.
- Providing toilets, sanitary containers, smoking containers, dining rooms for their own employees is primarily the responsibility of the contractors.
- Use of the “ MeFTIR Pre-Permit Module ” is still expected to speed up the work permission procedure and reduce the waiting time.

PROTECTION RULES AGAINST COVID-19 FOR CONTRACTORS and external partners (NON-MOL GROUP)
The coronavirus epidemic is still present in our lives and the rapid spread of the omicron variant has triggered the fifth wave of the pandemic. We are also experiencing the outbreak of the epidemic, so we have introduced new protection measures at our own employees for the health and safety of all our colleagues.
We also tighten the protection rules at our external partners, suppliers, contractors and visitors, so from 10th January 2022 we kindly ask you follow the following measures:
General rules in MOL territories:
Only healthy employees may enter MOL's sites. In the event of any symptoms suggestive of a coronavirus, entry shall be prohibited, if the symptoms occur during work, work must be suspended, the worker concerned and those who working with him must be isolated, and the case must be reported to the land owner.
Entering and working in enclosed spaces of MOL facilities:
-
The use of an FFP2 mask indoors is mandatory in the MOL plant area (eg operator rooms, laboratories, control rooms)
-
In offices and other MOL buildings using a mask - that covers both the nose and the mouth - is mandatory for everyone(minimum criterion is medical mask).
-
Immunity Certificate is required for external partners, guests and visitors who enter MOL's buildings for the purpose of meeting, consultation, discussion, business negotiation or interview with a MOL Colleague.
-
Please note that motor vehicles are also considered as enclosed spaces, so if several people travel together, everyone is required to wear a mask.
Working Outdoor:
-
It is mandatory to use - minimum medical- mask outdoors, if keeping 1.5 meters distance is not possible, or when meeting/discussion with a MOL Colleague,
-
Wearing a mask is not necessary for employees working in a same working-group if an employee of MOL Group or another company is not present.
-
Immunity Certificate is not required for work to fulfill the contract (eg installation in a technological area).
Mask usage and Immunity Certificate will be monitored on a random basis: the staff of the HSE, the Security Operation and the Security Service can request and check them on a random basis on MOL Sites and in the Buildings.
Only 1 person applying for a work permit can stay in the FFP2 mask at the same time , only for the most necessary time and continuously. Other workers applying for a work permit must wait outside the building.
In the case of companies notified separatly, the use of the “ MeFTIR pre-permit module” is mandatory, in the case of our other partners the use of the pre-permit module is strongly recommended, which can significantly reduce the work licensing process.
Providing toilets, sanitary containers, smoking containers, dining rooms for their own employees is primarily the responsibility of the contracting companies. In smoking areas please maintain a distance of at least 1,5 meters.
In addition to wearing a mask, please observe the following measures:
-
avoid eating, having a coffee or smoking together;
-
avoid handshakes, fists, other personal contacts;
-
ventilate frequently and thoroughly;
-
pay extra attention to hand hygiene, frequent and thorough hand washing;
-
avoid personal discussions, try to use online platforms instead.
We would like to emphasize that use of masks is not a recommendation but mandatory as described above, similar health and safety rule to wearing other personal protective equipment. Violation of the rules may have consequences, in accordance with the regulations on violation of occupational safety and health regulations.
In the light of the evolution of the epidemic situation, we are constantly examining the need to introduce more possible new control measures.
We have learned a lot about the coronavirus: if we make responsible decisions, act in a timely manner, and act in a disciplined manner, we can protect ourselves and secure the operation of the company. We ask that if you have not already done so, take the opportunity to be vaccinated and, without immunity, strictly follow the mask use rules.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Kind regards,
MOL SD&HSE
