Budapest, July 12, 2015 – Norbert Michelisz received special support at the WTCC Race of Portugal: Austrian motorsport champion Günther “Knobi” Knobloch visited the last WTCC race on European ground and met Michelisz before the race. In the presence of his main sponsor MOL Group, the leading international oil and gas company, Knobloch supported Norbert by igniting his passion to never stop challenging.

The Austrian sportsman has intense personal experiences in changing the focus of his life and in discovering new fields of activity. He finished his successful career as a motorcycle racer and decided to face a new defiance in life. He took the driver seat at a car rally in 2014. “The aim of achieving perfection might be in vain but it is always worth attempting to come as close as possible”, said Günther Knobloch at their meeting.

Having mastered the last races in quick succession, Norbert did not stop being a contender to his WTCC competitors in Portugal. The Vila Real street circuit in Porto was the perfect platform to show his ambition as it is particularly demanding.

“It was a big challenge to race on the streets of Vila Real because although there is not a lot of information for a racing driver about this venue on the internet, one thing everyone can see from on-board footage is that it has narrow and also very fast corners. This combination and the fact that I love driving on street circuits made the whole preparation very exciting. We achieved our goal to finish at least one race on the podium in Portugal”, said WTCC driver Norbert Michelisz.

“We initiated this special meeting between Norbert and ‘Knobi’ because we appreciate the attitude of people who never stop challenging themselves and others in order to succeed. Be it in sports or in the oil and gas business, the key to success is to constantly strive for perfection. When you are ready to broaden your horizon and search new ways of challenging yourself, you will be able to experience an overwhelming energy of positive change”, said Dominic Köfner, Vice President for Corporate Communications at MOL Group.
