  • Yesterday, Norbert Michelisz won the MOL Group WTCC Race of Hungary at his home race circuit.
  • His primary sponsor MOL Group congratulates him and will further fuel his ambition to become the best.
  • One of Norbert Michelisz biggest challenge is still ahead: the next WTCC race at Nürburgring.

Budapest, May 4, 2015 – Yesterday afternoon Norbert Michelisz scored the home win for the MOL Group WTCC Race of Hungary. In front of 35,000 enthusiastic fans he could prove his competitive attitude and compete against world champion José María López. His main sponsor MOL Group, a leading international oil and gas company, congratulates him on his success. The upcoming race at Nürburgring will be one of his greatest challenges.

“What a lucky man I am to have a race victory in front of these people. It’s just amazing. I remember very fondly 2012 when I won for the first time and I thought I couldn’t hope for anything better. Thanks to everyone involved for making this fantastic car – everything went as planned in the second race. I was pushing hard to be focused. I didn’t look a lot in the mirror, I didn’t look at the pit board how many laps were left but with two laps left I realised I was close to finishing. I was very excited after that”, said WTCC driver Norbert Michelisz.

“MOL Group congratulates Norbert on his win in the second MOL Group WTCC Race of Hungary and we are delighted to support Norbert as one of the best racing drivers in the WTCC. Yesterday Norbert proved again that he challenges his competitors through his courage, discipline and ambition. As always, we will provide our full support to Norbert when he achieves his ambitions by showing his best performance in the race - be it in Hungary or in Germany”, said Dominic Köfner, Vice President for Corporate Communications at MOL Group. The WTCC is becoming more and more popular in Hungary and MOL Group has consistently expanded its involvement in the sporting activity. The company supported the Hungarian WTCC race as a main sponsor and supplies racing fuel for the entire WTCC series through their member company Panta Distribuzione S.p.A.

In the next two weeks from now he has to focus on his next challenge at Nürburgring in order to compete and be among the best. With his ambition, discipline and the support of his sponsor, MOL Group, he will challenge himself again and hopefully improve his results. Norbert Michelisz and MOL Group follow the same route: starting from Hungary and constantly growing to compete on an international ground. Both challenge the status quo in order to be counted among the best.

At the next WTCC race in Germany, Norbert Michelisz will meet motorsport legend Klaus Ludwig to speak with him about the challenges of the race track and the ambition which drives both of them.
